![]() ![]() I was released the next morning however had zero appetite for a few days and I was extremely weak. The Doctor was great, very friendly and knowledgeable and was kind enough to drive me to a clinic where I spent the night on IV being treated for dehydration. It wasn’t until they saw me throw up into a garbage can beside the bed that they called a Doctor. I didn’t even get he chance for sun or drinks as I was sick shorty after arriving!! They were unsympathetic to my illness and were offended when I told them I had food poisoning. They sent a few hotel staff up to the room and accused me of having too many drinks and too much sun. I called the front desk and asked for a Doctor. By that evening I was so sick I fainted twice. The next day I was stuck in the room with non stop vomiting and diarrhea. I wasn’t feeling great afterwards but I wasn’t aware as to how bad it would get. We arrived at Samba on a Wednesday evening, so for supper we went to the outdoor buffet. Not sure why the paperless option was such a big deal! Then the bellboy lost one of our suitcases, however he quickly found it in another room. I had to email them the information from my phone then it was no problem. I had my booking information on my cellphone instead of printed out and they didn’t want to check us in. THE BAD Booked a week at Samba and from the moment we arrived things were not good. Unless you are a hard to please snob, you can't go wrong with this resort (if you are.we don't want you there anyhow) My wife tells me we will be going for 2 weeks next time and I'm okay with that! More Show less I wish they had the pasta bar every night instead of just one night a week. The comedy night and karaoke night were a blast! Most of the willing had ample opportunity to make fools of themselves =)*** CONS - the only thing I have is the food was good.not great. Because it was a small resort, and because a lot of it was interactive, we all had a great time laughing and watching fellow guests and new friends night after night up on stage with William. Also, because it was small, everyone was kind of keeping there eyes on each other's kids ***Special shout out to William and the entertainment staff. Kids club and pirate pool where definitely winners for the little ones (and for us!) -Definitely family centric, but I would still come here for an adult holiday as it wasn't like big resorts where the kids take over. I especially liked that they always said "welcome home" when you returned from an excursion. PROS - check in and check out was a breeze and relaxed - never had to wait in line very long for anything - staff where always friendly and accommodating. The Samba is nicely sized where you can always find a place at the pool, you meet and get to know the same guests and the service is personalized. It's not one of those huge mega resorts like the Rui or Bahia Principe where you need to line up for everything and walk a mile to get to all corners of the resort. ![]() I think the best part of the Samba is it's size. We just returned from a week at the Samba last night with the whole family and we all agree that it was a great little resort.
